The Riello CMG88.62D2 is a microcontroller-based gas-burner control box designed for the automatic start-up, operating supervision and safety shutdown of single-stage or multistage forced-draught gas burners.
The controller manages the programmed burner sequence and supervises components such as the burner motor, ignition transformer, gas valves, air-pressure switch, gas-pressure switch and flame-detection system. It is intended for intermittent operation, with at least one controlled burner shutdown every 24 hours.
Gas-flame supervision can be performed using an ionisation probe or a compatible QRA ultraviolet flame detector with the required ancillary unit. The flame-detection method must match the burner design, wiring arrangement and approved Riello configuration.
During start-up, the controller checks the required safety conditions, starts the burner fan, monitors the air-pressure switch, controls the ignition sequence and energises the gas valves according to the programmed operating cycle. If a flame is not established within the permitted safety time, or if an unsafe condition is detected, the controller shuts down the burner and enters safety lockout.
An integrated LED provides operating-sequence and fault-lockout information. Remote reset is supported where correctly wired according to the burner documentation.
The CMG88.62D2 operates from a 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz electrical supply and has an IP20 protection rating. Its housing is manufactured from impact-resistant, heat-resistant and flame-retardant plastic for installation within compatible burner equipment.
Typical applications include forced-draught gas burners, industrial and commercial boilers, steam boilers, hot-water boilers, furnaces, hot-air generators and process-heating systems.
The complete controller reference, Riello part number, burner model, flame detector, socket, wiring diagram and operating sequence must be checked before replacement. Installation, wiring, commissioning and fault diagnosis must be performed by qualified burner-service personnel.
