Product overview

Details that help confirm the fit.

The Wired Photocell is a prewired photoelectric flame sensor designed for flame supervision in compatible pressure-jet oil burner systems.

During burner start-up, the photocell monitors the light produced by the developing oil flame. The light-sensitive element converts the detected flame light into an electrical signal and transmits the signal to the burner control box through the attached cable.

When the control box receives a valid flame signal within the permitted safety period, normal burner operation continues. If a flame does not establish or the flame signal is lost during operation, the control box stops fuel delivery and places the burner into safety lockout.

The sensor features a compact red-brown housing designed for insertion into a compatible flame-viewing port or retaining holder. The integrated black cable provides a direct electrical connection to the burner control circuit.

A prewired design reduces the need for separate sensor leads and simplifies installation during burner servicing. Blue and black internal conductors are exposed at the control-box end for connection to the appropriate terminals.

Reliable flame detection depends on correct sensor positioning and a clear view of the combustion flame. Soot, oil residue, damaged insulation, loose wiring or incorrect installation can weaken the flame signal and cause intermittent burner lockout.

The wired photocell is suitable for compatible burners operating with heating oil, diesel, kerosene and LDO. Typical applications include heating boilers, steam boilers, hot-water boilers, oil-fired furnaces, industrial ovens, hot-air generators and thermic-fluid heaters.

The replacement photocell must match the original sensor type, cable arrangement, housing dimensions and burner control box. Flame-establishment and flame-failure safety functions should be tested after installation.

Model, voltage, rotation, pressure range and mounting can vary. Final compatibility is confirmed against the nameplate or existing component.
