The Riello Probe Wire Sensor Cable is a flexible electrical connection lead designed to connect a compatible flame-ionisation probe or burner sensor to the burner control box.
During burner operation, the flame probe detects the presence of a stable gas flame through the ionisation principle. The probe wire carries the low-level flame signal from the sensing electrode to the burner controller.
When the controller receives a valid flame signal, normal burner operation continues. If the flame signal is lost, the controller initiates a safety shutdown and closes the gas valves to prevent unburned gas from entering the combustion chamber.
The cable is supplied with pre-fitted electrical terminals for secure connection to compatible flame probes, control boxes and burner wiring assemblies. Insulated connector sleeves help protect the terminal joints against accidental contact and mechanical damage.
Flexible insulation allows the cable to be routed through compact burner housings and around internal components. The cable should be kept away from ignition leads, transformer wiring, hot surfaces, sharp edges and moving parts to reduce electrical interference and insulation damage.
Different cable lengths, colours and terminal combinations are used across Riello burner models. The replacement lead must match the original cable length, connector type, terminal orientation and burner wiring arrangement.
Typical applications include Riello gas burners installed on commercial and industrial boilers, steam boilers, hot-water boilers, furnaces, ovens, hot-air generators and process-heating equipment.
Reliable flame-signal transmission depends on clean terminals, sound insulation, correct probe positioning and proper burner earthing. Damaged insulation, loose connectors or electrical interference can weaken the flame signal and cause intermittent burner lockout.
Model, voltage, rotation, pressure range and mounting can vary. Final compatibility is confirmed against the nameplate or existing component.
